SKATEBOARDING IMPROVES
Have you ever felt like you’ve weren’t improving at skateboarding?
Sometimes, we reach a point where we need to push ourselves to improve our skills. Skateboarding can become repetitive if you do the same tricks over and over. You need to find a way to ignite that spark of excitement again, before or after this happens. Skateboarding is much more enjoyable when you can see your progress.
This blog post is worth reading. You can improve your skateboarding skills and make more progress than your friends.
Get up!
It is important to learn the basics of skateboarding when you are just starting.
Skateboarding is a sport that requires fundamental knowledge. This will allow you to do better tricks in the future.
This is for beginners who are just starting to skate. It involves learning how to balance, control, push, turn, stop, and so on. After you’re comfortable with your skateboard, you can learn to Ollie. Then you can work on landing the 7 tricks that every skater must learn for the skatepark . These include dropping in (quarter pipes), pumping and 180’s as well as shuvits, boardslides and 50-50’s.
Learn the basics and you will soon be a skilled skateboarder.
Stairs and skating gaps
You should be able to Olly up, down, and over curbs when you are ready to Olie your first set of stairs or gap.
Also, you should feel confident Olling with a little speed. This is important before you attempt to Ollie any stairs or gaps.
You should also be aware of these three points:
- Proper Pop – When you Ollie a gap, or set of stairs to clear, work towards popping your trick. This will accomplish two things: 1) It will give you the height to clear the stairs; 2) It will make the trick legitimate because you have pop.
- Proper Landing – Make sure to land with both feet on the bolts. This is important to avoid damaging your skateboard. It can be easy for your deck to fall on the tail, nose, or middle of your board.
- Committing – If you commit to a trick 100 percent and believe that you can, there are good chances you will succeed or get very close. If you fail to perform a trick, it is a sign that you don’t believe in your abilities. Before you try again, work on building your confidence and overcoming your fear.
You can commit to your trick without hesitation and watch as you soar up the stairs, spot your landing, and then roll off.
Try a frontside 180 next or, if you’re feeling brave, kickflip the stairs!
Enjoy the Best Around You
You can only be the best if you surround yourself with the best.
Paul Rodriguez is an example of this. It was all Eric Koston before anyone knew about P-Rod. Soon, it was clear that Koston was P-Rod’s mentor as he made his “come up”.
PRod is today one of the most renowned skateboarders. Why? Why?
The lesson is to surround yourself with the best people possible and create the right environment for you to grow and become the best.
You don’t have to be physically present to skateboarders that you admire, but you can find them online to learn from them. Learn from them, learn their success stories, and get every bit of information you can from their interviews.
You can be a successful skateboarder if you follow the same path as them.
Stay sharp, stay positive, and keep your head up!
Every successful skateboarder knows that in order to excel at skating, one must be mentally and physically healthy.
Get rid of any negativity, drama, and stress before you go out to skate. You must have a clear head and focus on positive thoughts, outcomes, and good feelings to skate at your best. To achieve this state, you should fuel your body with healthy food and water.
Instead of becoming frustrated when you make a mistake, or lose your temper, learn from it, and then move on.
You can take a break if you feel tired. You will find that your return is filled with energy and inspiration that you don’t have before. Don’t push yourself to be tired. You run a higher risk of injury if you skate when you are tired.
Rob Dydrek even said that most of his injuries to skates happened when he was tired but he kept skating.
Keep your feet moving and enjoy skating.

Keep your dreams alive and keep skating!
