HAVING THE GUTS TO SKATE YOUR LOCALSKATEPARK WITHOUT WORRIES
You want to learn how you can skate the skatepark without falling or embarrassing yourself in front other skaters.
I can recall my first experience with skateboarding. I remember being dropped off at the park and then standing there. I didn’t want to skate because I was afraid that I would fall or lose it. I had to chase it down.
I was too scared to skate!
You won’t be able to skate in the park if you aren’t comfortable with it yet.
After skating for several more years, I have done pretty well and it’s not so scary when you’re at a new skatepark.
You can do the same.
If you don’t have fun skateboarding, it shouldn’t be boring. Let me help you and teach you how to charge your skatepark with confidence.
1. Get out of your head
Skateboarding is a mental sport. If you are constantly thinking about your mind, you may be unable to skate the park. Do not let this happen.
Once you arrive at the skatepark, choose a simple obstacle to begin with and get started.
It doesn’t matter what other skaters think of you. Get into the flow and learn the tricks that you love. Have fun, learn how to skateboard and have fun landing tricks.
2. Get there early
It is a good idea to arrive early at the skatepark.
It’s the perfect place to learn tricks and have fun without being intimidated by other skateboarders. You can also get a feel for how to use the skatepark.
My favorite time to skate is the morning.
This is the only time you can skate whatever you want, without anyone getting in your way. It’s a great time to learn tricks and master them.
I advise not to try 100 tricks, but to pick two or three good tricks.
You can feel confident bringing a few solid tricks with you to the park. Depending on which tricks you choose, you will be able to use them on any obstacle.
These are some solid tips for skating:
- Kickflip
- FS/BS 180
- Fifty-fifty Grin
- Boardslide
- 360 Flip
If you are able to do these tricks well, you will be respected.
3. Learn how to master your craft
You must master your craft to become a great skateboarder.
Rodney Mullen, who is considered the father of street skating, was obsessed with skateboarding and spent hours practicing in his garage every day. It was all time spent perfecting his flatland skills that it started to pay off.
- He won the first freestyle contest that he entered
- Get sponsored and join a cool team of skaters
- Begin World Industries Skateboards together with a friend
- Awarded the Skater of The Year award, and later.
- Founded Almost Skateboards Company
All this was possible because he worked hard to perfect his craft.
My point is that if you want to feel confident in your ability to skatepark charge, regardless of who’s around, you have to practice a lot. It’s that simple.
4. Have fun!
Skateboarding should be fun.
Ryan Sheckler: “Every win makes it more determined to win again, as long as I can stay focused and have some fun.”
Skateboarding can be taken too seriously. It’s not about being noticed, getting sponsored, or getting paid.
Skating is a sport we love. Having fun makes you more creative and less stressed, which results in better tricks and better style.
Have fun, and you can have success in skateboarding!
5. Be happy, don’t be afraid
This motto should be your guideline when you go to the skatepark.
Do not stress about a single trick. You don’t have to master a trick in a single session. You don’t want to stress out.
If you do have to go to the skatepark and suffer a serious injury, such as I did yesterday, then walk it off and pretend it never happened. Do not let falling ruin your mood. Be happy.
Conclusion
That’s it. This should help you conquer your fears and boost your confidence. Skating at a different skatepark can be great fun but only if it’s actually skating.
Keep your head up, keep focused and have fun.
Don’t let fear stop you from falling and getting back up. Fear can hinder your success. You must face your fears and learn from your mistakes in order to succeed.
Have fun and keep learning new tricks!
